FSS Technologies is the Midwest's premier provider of electronic security systems and fire alarms. One aspect of the company's extensive growth is the acquisition of local security providers. We mainly concern ourselves on a company's reputation in the industry, the products that they represent, their culture, and their customers. We strive to ensure all of our acquisitions fit our business model and share the same values and standards that have kept FSS successful over the years.
Ray's Lock Works
Berkley, Michigan
Acquired: 2022
In 1981 Ray and Carolyn Sinai started Ray’s Lock Works. For over 35 years, Ray built and operated his company in the Detroit Metro area. Ray provided outstanding customer service and quality products, building a great reputation over the years.
During that time, Ray mastered several systems and caught our attention. We then worked with Ray to acquire the business when he decided to retire. Those systems included:
-
Master key systems
-
Large and small format interchangeable cores (BEST, Schlage, Corbin, etc.)
-
Access control systems (i.e. electric strikes, magnetic (mag) locks, keypads, and card readers
-
Electronic and mechanical push button locks, both for commercial and residential.
When Ray decided to retire, his two main concerns were his employees and his customers. He wanted to ensure both were treated well and that the company that succeeded him would provide the same level of service his customers were used too. At FSS Technologies, we strive to provide our customers with world class service. When you call our office, you will talk to someone without having to push any buttons. Moreover, FSS provides service within 24 hours.

Eagle Security-Chicago
Mokena, Illinois
Acquired: 2021
Eagle Security began its operation in 2012 after the collapse of Carter Brothers Inc. They built their business on the principles they had operated on for years. In late 2020, FSS began discussions with the Eagle team about an acquisition as their headquarters were in Wixom, Michigan and the commute had become quite arduous. Eagle management made a strategic decision to focus on their Detroit operation and divest the Chicago operation. FSS was afforded the opportunity to acquire the office and roll it in to the Arlington Heights office.
Pulsar Electronics Inc.
Detroit, Michigan
Acquired: 2019
In 1972, Dave Summers started Pulsar Electronics Inc. in his basement doing small fire alarms and security systems. Bruce Chapin joined the team in 1978, and by 1985, Dave was looking to retire. Bruce purchased the company from Dave, and as they say, the rest is history. Bruce built an outstanding fire alarm, intercom, and security company in the metropolitan Detroit area and continued to run the company through 2019. After lengthy discussions, Bruce decided to retire. However, during these conversations, his primary concern was that his employees' job security would remain intact, and his customers would continue to receive the same excellence in their service. We promised him we would do our best to ensure that both were satisfied. In December of 2019, FSS Technologies acquired the assets of Pulsar Electronics. Bruce and his wife Patty helped us through the transition and are now enjoying their retirement.
